Success of the SITE Conference in Montreux

The annual conference of SITE (the Society of Incentive & Travel Executives), the world’s leading association for decision-makers in the incentive travel sector, which took place in Montreux from December 5 to 8, was praised by the 475 participants coming from 39 countries.This convention gave incentive travel specialists opportunities to speak with numerous Swisstourism providers and to learn all about the benefits of choosing Switzerland as a businessdestination.

Swiss business tourism specialists could demonstrate their wide range of competencies in terms ofconference and accommodation infrastructure, as well as leisure programmes, during the SITEConference held for the first time in Switzerland. “The extremely positive feedback of all SITE conferenceparticipants at the end of their stay in Montreux underlines the importance of holding such events inSwitzerland to boost the development of business tourism,” said Barbra Albrecht, Manager of theSwitzerland Convention & Incentive Bureau (SCIB).

According to Padraic Gilligan, director of SITE,”Montreux has raised the standard by which future conferences will be measured.” “The Swiss have donea great job; Switzerland is our star – the destination for sustainable development,” added Brigitte Boone,member of the SITE International Board.The SCIB (Switzerland Convention & Incentive Bureau) is the division of Switzerland Tourism responsiblefor assisting professionals in the planning of congresses, seminars, incentive travels and other events inSwitzerland.
